Newsletter – Room 105

I hope everyone had a good time at the festival. The children were so excited seeing the rides go up last week.

ICE CREAM CHALLENGE: We did it!!!!! Thank you so much for reviewing the ten word lists with your children. We also owe a big thank you to Mrs. Kettner (a volunteer) who helped the children review the words. They were so proud to add scoops of ice cream to their cone. We will celebrate with an ice cream party Friday afternoon.

RELIGION: This week our focus will be sharing God’s love. We will discuss how to share God’s love with our families, friends and others.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Reading: This week we will read the last three stories in our reader for fun.

Phonics: We will decode and read words with oi (soil, boil, etc.)

Grammar: We will practice writing complete sentences.

HOMEWORK: Enjoy reading the last three stories with your children. If you have any “Baggie” books at home, please return them. Thank you.

SPELLING: No more spelling test!

MATH: We will learn how to measure with centimeters, count money (dimes, nickels and pennies), add three digit numbers and continue to work with addition and subtraction facts.

HOMEWORK: Complete side B of fact sheet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We will review wants and needs and community workers. We studied these concepts with our Junior Achievement helper.

HEALTH: We will discuss summer safety and strangers.
