ALGEBRA is the branch of mathematics that deals with general statements of relations, utilizing letters and other symbols to represent specific sets of numbers and values in the description of those relations. Algebra II continues the work begun in Algebra I and includes the following topics: linear systems and inequalities, functions, quadratics, parent graphs and transformations, sequences and series, radical expressions and equations, rational expressions and equations and polynomial functions.
PRE-CALCULUS is the continuation of algebraic topics begun in Algebra II. As the title of the course implies, this class is designed to prepare students with the prerequisite skills necessary for Calculus in a subsequent year. Topics covered during the year will include: functions, including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; trigonometry, including basic principles, analytic trigonometry, and trigonometric functions; and conic sections, including parabolas, ellipses, circles, and hyperbolas.
