Kim Fors Kim Fors views the guidance of children toward the discovery and expression of their creativity and natural gifts as one of the most important and rewarding aspects of teaching. She is pleased and honored to teach at St. Francis, where this value is shared. Kim also brings to the classroom a love of reading and language as well as a continuing interest in science and environmental education. Kim is a graduate of Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. She lived in Louisville and taught in the Jefferson County Public Schools for six years before moving to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1999. In Flagstaff Kim spent eight years teaching first and third grades at Knoles Elementary. She has furthered her education through coursework at the University of Louisville and Northern Arizona University. Kim met her husband Darryl in Louisville. In the spirit of adventure they headed west together, marveling at the beauty of its varied landscapes and views, abundant wildlife, brilliant blue skies and crisp, clean air. Kim’s favorite places in the west are Sedona in Arizona and Zion National Park and the Grand Escalante Staircase in Utah. Though they will always cherish their time “out west,” they also appreciate the lush greenness of Louisville and closer proximity to family and friends. Kim’s son Will Wyatt was born in Flagstaff in 2003. Will has brought an abundance of joy and energy into the lives of Kim and Darryl. He has joined the Junior Kindergarten class at St. Francis. Kim and her family enjoy hiking, floating and wading in creeks, and observing plants and wildlife. She is an avid reader and NPR listener.
