Marathon Club |
|
Both Grand View and Robinson have marathon clubs. Grand View's club is conducted by Miss Wood, although both programs are ran in a similar manner. Students can run, jog, or walk during lunch recess on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Each student has a card with the amount of laps they have completed. After 40 laps which is 5 miles, students earn what is called a shoe token that they can wear on their shoelaces. Each 5 miles a student completes they earn a shoe token. After 25 miles they earn a marathon club t-shirt. Students can also earn mileage after school and during the weekend. Students can bring in a signed note from their parent or guardian with the mileage they have completed which will be added to their mileage card. This is a great motivation for students to be active and receive recognition for it.
