Homework is normally assigned Monday - Thursday.  I usually do not assign homework on Fridays.  It should take students no more than 15 to 20 minutes to complete each night, and an additional 15 minutes to read and fill in the reading log.    

 

Please take time each night to check your child's folder. I have put this folder together in hopes that it is our communication and information hub. The paper provided is a secure, private place for notes (that would otherwise have a tendency to disappear between home and school).  The folder is also an opportunity for your child to build independence. 

 

         Parents, you are the key to making homework a positive experience for your child.  So please, make it a priority, provide the necessary supplies, and a quiet learning environment.  If you have any problems you may call me at school anytime.

Some ways parents can help their
child with homework are:

·  Have a specific time each day to complete homework.

·  Make sure it is in a quiet, comfortable, well-lit place.

·  Make sure there are no distractions (music playing, TV blaring, etc.).

·  Help your child, but do not do their homework for them.
