1. Come up with ten "million dollar words" and write them correctly in ten sentences. 2. Provide me with ten examples of onomatopoeia. 3. Provide me with five examples of alliteration. 4. Score 100% on four spelling tests to earn one point (eight for two points, etc.) 5. Name the four types of sentences and provide an example of each. 6. Give four examples of simile. 7. Give four examples of metaphor. 8. Write a story for National Novel Writing Month. 9. Write a story or letter to someone about living in the colonial times. 10. Score 100% on a week of Daily Language Practice (DLP) exercises. 11. Name ten books that have earned the Newbery Medal. Scholastic Page|Complete List from ALA 12. Name ten books that have earned the Caldecott Medal. Complete List from ALA 13. Write down the names of ten authors who have written Newbery Medal award books. 14. Write down the names of three types of medals books can receive besides the Newbery and Caldecott Medal. Literary and Related Awards 15.
