The students have finished their first complete unit of vocabulary. I believe they have a better sense of why they learn vocabulary and the impact it has on their writing and reading. We will begin Unit 2 after Columbus Day. Also, the students have worked very hard on their grammar unit on nouns and pronouns. They will take their first test on October 8th. After that we will move on to verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. During this time, we will also begin work on an autobiographical piece of writing. This piece of writing will allow us to examine the essay form: introduction, body, and conclusion.
