Say Cheese....

I'm in need of 2 photos of your adorable child to start off our school year.  If you would, please email me 1 current photo at kduncan@dordcs.org by 8.30.08.  Please plan on bringing an actual 4 x 6 photo to the orientation meeting on Friday, September 5th.  You may use the same photo, or choose a different one.  The print photo will go on your child's placemat and the the digital photo will be cropped and used to make your child's check-in name card.

Special Date Reminders

Friday, September 5th*:  Parent Information Meeting (Parents ONLY, Please)

Parents of AM Preschoolers meet at 10:00am

Parents of PM Preschoolers meet at 1:00pm

Both meetings will take place in the Preschool Classroom.  We’ll discuss:

Ø  Curriculum Overview & “Details of the School Day”

Ø  Sign-up Opportunities (Crafty Workers, Class Photographers, Play-doh Helpers)

Ø  Questions,  Comments,  & Concerns

Monday, September 8th: First day of classes

-Small groups of children attend. Parents are invited to stay!  (Bring your camera).

 Wednesday, September 10th:

-Small groups of children attend without parents. 

Friday, September 12th:  

-Entire class attends for an abbreviated session.

AM Class:    8:50-10:50am

PM Class:      12:20-2:20pm

Monday, September 15: 

-Entire class attends for regular class schedule.

AM Class:     8:50-11:20am

PM Class:    12:20-2:40pm

School Supply List: Please bring supplies with you to the Parent Information Meeting on September 5th:

All children please bring:

-One (1) box Crayola Classic Washable Markers (8 Count)

-Two (2) .77 oz. or larger Elmer's School Glue Sticks

            -One container of disinfecting wipes (75 count- any brand)

            -One (1) 7 5/8 oz. bottle of washable glue

Only AM children, please bring:

-One (1) box GALLON size zip-lock type bags (15 count)

-One (1) box 5oz. cups (100 count) (5 oz.)

Only PM children, please bring:

-One (1) box QUART size zip lock type bags (20 count)

-One roll Wegmans brand "Choose-A-Size" Extra Absorbent Paper Towels

“What should I bring along with my child on Monday, September 8^th?”

-Regular "full school size" backpack or tote bag LABELED with your child's name on the inside!  Please do not send in the smaller backpacks that are often sold in specialty stores (e.g. Gymboree, GAP), as they are too small for completed art projects.  Tote bags are wonderful because they are so easy to fill.

-A full change of clothing inside a zip lock type bag LABELED with your child's name. This will remain in the backpack throughout the school year.
