Science Vocabulary Motion - A change of position. Speed - A measure of an object's change of position during a unit of time. Force - A push or pull. Acceleration - A change in the speed of direction of an object's motion. Gravity - A force that pulls all objects toward each other. Weight - A measure of the force of gravity upon an object. Friction - A force that keeps objects touching each other from sliding past each other. Ask your student which falls faster, a crumpled sheet of paper, or a flat sheet. What causes this to happen? We will be using the Scientific Method to study Force and Motion.
