Topics for March

Converting Measurement/Temperature/Elapsed Time

Topic 18 - We are converting between different units of length, capacity, and weight in the Customary System.

Topic 19 - We are applying measurement concepts to measure temperature and changes in temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Math Benchmark - March 10

Spring Break - March 15-19

Topic 19 - Continues with solving elapsed time problems.  Also, time on a calendar and on schedules.

At home activities:

Look for different geometric shapes, lines and angles.  Identify them with your child.

Have your child help you in the kitchen with recipes and measuring. Some examples of questions to ask :  What is the capacity of our sink in gal or liters? How much does this bag of oranges or potatoes weigh in lbs and kg?  How many cups does it take to make a quart?

Discuss temperature and the difference between the high and low temp for the day?

    Continue to practice multiplication facts.
