SCOPE AND GOALS:
This once a week course is designed to familiarize students with key strategies essential for school success. Student instruction will include CRISS (CReating Independence through Student-owned Strategies) training and social skill development. Advisory classes meet for one hour each block day. Through instruction in the Advisory Class, students will gain techniques for understanding and learning their academic lessons as well as acquiring constructive interpersonal strategies. The Saville student is expected to apply the ideas contained in the Advisory Class to experiences in the classroom.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:

· To infer, identify cause/effect, summarize, acquire new vocabulary.
· To gain basic skills in time management.
· To develop a game plan for success.
· To practice problem solving techniques.
