 Class Newsletter

Nov. 9 - 13, 2009

We have a student in our class that has a severe peanut allergy. Please read the back of the packages when you buy snacks to be sure the item you send does not contain peanuts, peanut oil, or other peanut products. Thank you!

We are running low on paper towels and baby wipes.
If anyone would like to send some for the class, I would really appreciate it! I told the class if they bring in paper towels or baby wipes, they will receive a candy treat.

In Reading/Language Arts this week our letter of the week is Ii. We will review the =at and -an families and continue to learn rhyming words.  Our new "star words" this week are ‘come' and ‘and'.  Our sight words  we have covered so far are, ‘he', ‘she', ‘me', ‘we', ‘a', ‘I', ‘go', ‘to', ‘my', ‘the' , ‘like', ‘do' and ‘at'.  This week's homework is attached to this newsletter.  Library day is on Thursday.  This week in Math we will continue to learn how to write the numbers 6-10. The children will work in a booklet that will come home when we are finished with it.

Wednesday (the 11th) at 1:00  is the Veteran's Day Program.  If you know  a veteran,  please have him/her call the school to find out how they can be honored.  We will be coloring the insets for the coffee cups for the Veterans on Monday and Tuesday. If you would like to attend the program, everyone is invited. Usually the office gives each teacher a check out form in their room. If you would like to check out your child after the program, you can come to the room after it is over and sign the check out sheet.

Some of the books we will be reading this week are:

Iguana on Ice
I Am Lost and I Lost My Tooth
