"It's not how many races you win, it's what you do when the situation gets adverse....You either get up and you work harder or you give up. I'm not giving up."
--Dale Earnhardt Jr. August 2002
"I think the fans cheer for you - not because you win or lose,
but because of who you are and your attitude."
--Dale Earnhardt Jr. November 2003
"I was a rookie...and I was in Rockingham," Earnhardt Jr. said. "We took a provisional to start the race. I was really down in the dumps. My daddy and I sat down in his bus and he looked at me and he said, 'You'll have days like this and tomorrow you might win the race. Don't ever let it get you down because the next day can be the greatest day you'll ever have."
I guess you can tell by the look of this page that I love racing - NASCAR racing and LSU sports.
My husband and I are big Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans. We have a sign in our kitchen that says "Life in this house is put on hold for a NASCAR race" The same could be said for LSU football.
I am originally from Pennsylvania. I have been teaching at Frost for 27 years (It really doesn't seem that long). For 23 of those 27 years, I taught 2nd grade. I now teach Kindergarten and enjoy every minute of it!
I love the people and the community of Colyell. Since my family is so far away, the Frost/Colyell community has become my second family. I have rejoiced with you in the happy times and cried with you in the sad ones.
In my classroom I like to have routines and humor. I feel that children can learn more if they know what to expect and are able to have a some fun doing it. I am proud to say that several years ago I won a Louisiana Learns Grant entitled READING IS FUN. With the money from this Grant, I purchased classroom sets of three different books, Princess and the Pea, The Night Before Christmas, and Beauty and the Beast. Even though these were purchaced while I still taught 2nd grade, I have incorporated them into my Kindergarten units as well.
My husband and I live in Baton Rouge. We have one son.
