There have been quite a few students in all grade levels wearing too short of shorts. Remember, shorts and fingertips should be even with each other when your child is standing with their hands hanging at their side. Spring time is always a great time to go through closets and donate clothes that are too small. The LBCS office will gladly take your clothes to pass on to families who need them. Life Cycles Play At the very end of the year, 2nd grade will be putting on the play, “Life Cycles.” In "Life Cycles," students reinforce their study of the reproduction, developmental stages, inherited characteristics, and variations of plants and animals with catchy songs and funny dialogue. Butterflies, frogs, and mice never sounded so good! "Life Cycles" covers the following basic aspects of the biological sciences: metamorphosis; the food chain; shared characteristics; the plant cycle; nourishment (water, food, light); adaptation to the environment. Students will begin practicing the many fun and catchy songs and practicing possible lines. We will spend the month of April learning the play and songs as a class. At the beginning of May, interested students can try out for the main speaking/singing roles. It is a lot of fun but also a great deal of work. If you are interested in helping out with the production, please let us know. *Math concepts are getting more difficult. If you child cannot do their homework independently, please let me know.
