John Paul II High School Athenaeum

|
In Classical Athens, the Athenaeum was a gathering area where scholars, poets, and playwrights came to create and to read aloud their works, and where teachers came to instruct eager students. When St. Paul visited Athens, as mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles, most scholars felt that he visited the Athenaeum.
Later, one of the premier Catholic universites in the United States, Notre Dame, chose the same name for its library. Today, the word has come to mean a literary or scientific association and building housing a library, periodicals, newspapers, and areas for quiet individual and public group study.
The John Paul II Athenaeum is a state-of-the-art, wireless multimedia center combining a library with computer and technology facilities. This center anchors student academic research and provides a public access center for our larger community to use.
