August notes

Dear Fourth and Fifth graders,       

I hope you are looking forward to the adventure of our school year together as much as I am.  During the summer, I have been busy meeting with other "multiage" teachers as well as sharing plans for Community Building, Family Groups, and other activities with Alternative School teachers (by the way, don't forget to finish your Alt School summer learning packet).  I have also begun to get our classroom ready for September.  There are new pencil boxes, journal books, and clip boards waiting for you.  On the first day of school, please bring two sharpened pencils, one or two mechanical pencils with extra leads (7mm), one "pink pearl" eraser, two red pencils or pens, two ball-point pens with black ink, one yellow highlighter, two independent reading books, and a pack of 3x5" index cards.  Also bring an open mind and a positive attitude.  I will have everything else we need.  Please make sure that anything you bring to school will fit into your locker!!
