Hello, my name is Mrs. Jo Jacobsen. I am very excited to be back in Yakima after being on the other side of the Cascades for 10 years. I am looking forward to meeting you all and having a great year together. Additional sites about me: For my art www.jojacobsen.com.
The following information will help you have a successful year. SUPPLIES: Supply lists are found in the Supply List tab to the left. Please have your supplies asap so we can start working. Thank you
HOMEWORK/LATE WORK: Students will be doing work in class along with homework (possible 5 points each). All work is due the next school day after it is assigned to be able to receive full credit.
Assignments turned in after the due date, but before the end of the same school week can still receive 50% credit. All work handed in after that first week can be accepted for 40% credit.
Students will not receive any credit for assignments if handed in after the unit is done. If a parent/guardian would like their student to still complete the work after the assignment can receive credit, we will check the work to make sure that the learning target is reached, but no credit will be given. LABS: We work in groups to solve problems. Class work is due by the end of class/project. Each assignment is worth 5 points. NOTES: Students will be taking notes in class. They must take effective notes to do well on quizzes and tests. This is an important tool they will use through out their school careers.
BEHAVIOR: It is vital that all students behave in a manner that does not inhibit the learning or safety of other students. No talking or disrupting during instruction is vital. Working cooperatively in groups is necessary. We are going to have a great year!!
