Each month interested students will meet for Science Club activities. The third meeting will be on Tuesday, October 20, at 3:10 in Room 202. We will meet until 4:00 pm. Please be prompt when picking up your students. Last year the Science Club participated in many fun science activities such as a visit to a local planetarium, a sheep heart dissection, a mystery powder investigation, a bridge building contest, etc....... At the last science club, the students experimented with various white powders to determine their identity. Using iodine, vinegar, magnifiers, and water the students analyzed the powders. Later they attempted to determine the identity of 3 powders that were mixed together. Although no one was able to identify correctly all 3 powders, we still had so much fun performing the investigation. The next science club will be on Tuesday, November 10, till 4:00. Don't forget about our annual visit to the Vollbrecht Planetarium on Tuesday, November 17, at 3:45. Each parent must drive their child to the show and remain at the show. The cost for everyone in attendance (including parents and siblings) is $5.00 each. The planetarium visit always serves as a great way for the students to refresh their knowledge of all things astronomy...before our big test after Thanksgiving. I am in the process of collecting all fees now. There is limited seating at the planetarium, so bring in your money soon!
