NOVEMBER NIGHT SKY

 

THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF ASTRONOMY 2009 CELEBRATES THE 400 ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST ASTRONOMICAL USE OF THE TELESCOPE BY GALILEO.

Mars - Magnitude 0 high in SW sky at dawn

Saturn - Magnitude +1  - high in ESE at dawn

Moon passes three planets in the morning sky, in order - Mars - Saturn -Venus from Nov. 8-15.

First quarter moon is shown near Jupiter and Neptune on Nov. 23

Nov. 3 - one hour before sunrise - Venus low in East sky near Spica
