Welcome to the 2008-2009 School Year.

First Semester: Women's Spirituality

Second Semester: Hope and Grief

I am hoping that this is a year of fulfilled goals and a focus on academic and personal excellence.

We will need the following in order to have a successful year:

Notebook/journal: I prefer a binder with pockets...a single notebook with a pocket folder will suffice

Writing implements: Pens, pencils  (any colors that I can read...no yellow please) You will journal each day and it will be collected.

 You will be responsible for reading and responding  to ONE article per week (your choice). NCR stands for National Catholic Reporter

AN OPEN MIND: A willingness to learn something new even if it's not what you've always thought. You don't have to agree but you do have to understand that not everyone thinks alike.

Manners: addressing people with a kind hello.

NO GOSSIPING ABOUT ANYONE.

No hoods or hats are to be worn in class. Anything that can hide an ipod, cell phone, or any other messaging device are prohibited. Hoodies with pockets may be worn inside out :)

Sleeping is an option ONLY during class meditations. (Personal meditations must be done on your own time :) )

My message board is a place to post thoughts, responses, ideas or questions. Please feel free to use it.

**Class expectations, course outlines are to be viewed and you AND your parent/guardian are to send a message to my Message Board stating you have read them(see links below). This must be completed by September 14th. If you do not have internet access at home a signed copy may be handed in. (Please do not waste paper if you can help it!)**

Assignments will be posted. Please check frequently.

Relax. This course is not as difficult as it seems.
