This year the Character Education courses are dramatically different than they have been in the past.  For starters we finally have curriculm standards regarding Character Education and Social Emotional Learning that were adopted this year by our Board of Education.  Below in the files section are a number of word documents describing in detail what we hope to accomplish at each grade level.  In addition we have purchased classroom materials that have been recognized by a number of national organizations for their quality and documented effectiveness.  As the year goes on more details about the program will be going up on this site and home to parents.  Until then here are two useful links.

• Second Step - this is the program we purchased to use as a large portion of our curriculm.  Additional topics will be added as needed to meet the Madison Character Education/SEL Standards.
