Academic Information » Accelerated Credits in MS For the most part students are required to complete units in Middle School. These courses are required by the state to move into High School. However, the courses will not count as credits toward High School graduation. Within the Little Falls Middle School there are four areas in which students can recieve High School graduation credit. The areas are as follows - - Studio Art
- Language
- Earth Science - Regents
- Math - Regents
Why earn credits in Middle School? By completing required courses earlier a student can free up time in their later High School years. This time can then be used to take more electives, complete an internship or spread out challenging courses over three years vs. two. Elective credits can range from BOCES coursework to AP classes. Please be advised that the Middle School unit requirements cannot be dropped if students are in accelerated courses. The state and local mandated Middle School courses take precedence over accelerated courses.
