Meet Mrs.Bader

Hello! My name is Janet Bader and I teach a morning Kindergarten class at Washington School.

I have been a primary grade teacher for 21 years and this is my 13th year teaching Kindergarten at Washington School.

I grew up in Los Angeles and I earned my degree and teaching credential at UCLA.  I also have a Masters of Science in Education with a Specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy.

In 2001, I was named the Redondo Beach Unified Teacher of the Year and I went on to become a Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year.  The following year, I was named the South Bay Young Educator of the Year. It meant so much to me to be able to represent Washington School.

When I am not teaching, I love to surf and to hike with my husband, Ned. He works for IBM and has just completed his Masters in Environmental Engineering. He also enjoys his volunteer work for Sierra Club and the Audobon Society.
