First Trimester Assessments

During the entire month of November, the Kindergarten teachers will be assessing the children for the 1^st trimester report card. 

Here are a few things to review with your child during the next few weeks:

ü        Shapes: Identify and name a circle, square, triangle and rectangle

ü        Days of the Week: name and recite

ü        Counting: by 1’s to 20

ü        Numbers: name the numbers 1-10 (out of order)

ü        Sets: make and count a set of objects up through 10.

ü        Sorting:  sort a group of objects by color, shape, and size.

ü        Patterns: read a pattern and tell what will come next (i.e. red-blue-red-blue)

ü        Scissors: use scissors to cut out a shape.

ü        Vocabulary Words:  read and spell 5 words (I, see, my, like, a)

ü        Beginning Sounds:  identify words that start with the same beginning sound

ü        Rhyming Words: identify 2 words that rhyme, and make up another word that rhymes

ü       Letters: name all capital and lower case letters of the alphabet

        Sounds: make the sound of each letter of the alphabet (out of order)
