Writing

Everyday students will be responsible for writing a story.  Here is a list of what I will be looking for in order to consider the writing proficient:

2nd Quarter

Students should be writing (at least) 4 full sentences.

Sentences should try to remain on one main topic.

Sentences should begin with a capital and have ending punctuation.

Word Wall Words and spelling words should be spelled correctly.

Students are encouraged to use their imagination when writing stories.  We are working very hard on coming up with new and creative topics to write about everyday.

We will also begin writing our Personal Narratives in January.  Our personal narratives will be true stories.  We will be working on details that remain on topic and make our story interesting.  Students will have to write a short personal narrative for their theme 5 test.  This writing will be graded.
