Dear Island Trees Families,
As we approach the holiday season, PTSA would like to thank all the families, teachers, staff, volunteers and administers for their support. As always, our collective goal is to make our school years memorable for both our children and ourselves. We have kicked off the year with our membership drive which is still ongoing. Success for PTSA means enriching your environment by linking families, schools and communities for the benefit of all children. We believe that when parents become involved, every child will succeed.
Just some of the events that you can look forward to during the upcoming weeks are "Light the Night," the Harlem Wizards basketball game, and the Islanders game performance by our 5th and 6th chorus and band. The Cultural Arts committee is busy scheduling great programs for our students with topics such as distracted driving and another one of the hottest topics currently-bullying.
We are also working with the NFL and USA Football to bring you more information and events on fitness, nutrition, sports and safety. More details will follow soon.
Additionally, we would like to thank our committee chair, Cheryl Ittem, and the families who purchased from our Yankee Candle fundraiser. Also, we'd like to thank Joni Reilly for chairing our Holiday Basket committee that helps our families in need celebrate the holidays. Thank you as well to Amy Martin for making our middle school book fair so successful. Our volunteers and faculty support can make our PTSA successful and beneficial for our community. We always appreciate the help we receive and we invite you to volunteer for the PTSA’s events. For more information on our events and meetings, visit our website at islandtrees.org and click in the PTSA selection on the navigation bar. If you should have any questions please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on January 21st at the middle school library at 7:00pm. Please join us and bring a friend and share your thoughts and ideas.
Happy Holidays and a joyful New Year!
Your PTSA Co-Presidents,
Dawn Garcia and Judith Storm
