The girls flag football team finished their season on June 2nd as  they won their second consecutive County Championship.

Defense was the  word of the day as the Cougars shut out Perry Middle 13-0 in the semifinal game and intercepted five passes.  After a slow start, the offense got on track and put the game away with their second touchdown.

In the championship game, Westglades Middle School jumped out to an early 6-0 lead but the girls fought back and tied the game on a touchdown pass from Christine McAvenia to Lily Pruneda.  With five minutes left in the game, the Cougars drove down the field and scored the winning touchdown on a great catch by Nicole Johnston.

After Westglades got the ball, an interception by Lily Pruneda clinched the game and sent the girls on their way to celebrating their back to back championships.
