Ninth Grade Study Block
Study Block/Flex Expectations
The purpose of study block, also referred to as flex, is for students to complete class assignments, obtain extra help, and/or study. It is not a time for socializing with friends.
Students are expected to abide by the following rules and guidelines:
• Arrive to flex by 11:15 am or you will receive a late slip
• Come prepared with something to do – bring your planner!
• Sleeping is not allowed
• Cell phones, MP3 players, iPods, etc. are NOT permitted in flex. If they are seen or heard, they will be confiscated and disciplinary action will be taken.
• Computers/Laptops are for Academic purposes only
• Obtain signed passes from teachers before you arrive to study block
• The use of the locker/hall pass and bathroom pass is a privilege and it will be taken away if abused
• Adhere to the teacher’s sign in/sign out procedures
• Inform your study block teacher about activities you are involved in over flex, such as band, chorus, yearbook, and Tiger Talk
• You are expected to come to study block on Fridays unless you have obtained permission from your study block teacher
