National Honor Society

The National Honor Society will meet on mondays during the 2008 - 2009 school year.  Members are required to attend meetings and to offer a minimum 15 hours of tutoring service to the school.  Annual dues ($10.00) will be due by October 20, 2008

NHS Tutoring

NHS Tutors are available Monday to Friday before and after school.  Tutoring is held in the Library and is available for the following subjects: Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.  

 No sign up necessary. 

All students are welcome to stop in and utilize this valuable service.

**Tutors may also be available during Study Halls.  See your Guidance Counselor to sign up.

 

NHS Selection Process for 2008-09

Those students who are eligible to apply to the HHW National Honor Society will be notified on Monday, October 1st, and invited to the eligibility meeting on Tuesday, October 7th at 2:30 PM in the Auditiorium.  At this meeting students will be informed of the application process and deadlines.  All applications must be returned to Miss Funari no later than October 15th.  No exceptions!

The Induction ceremony for newly selected members will take place on November 12, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium.  Students and parents will be notified via correspondence of eligibility to apply and final acceptance.  Acceptance is based on academic performance (minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA), leadership, extra-curricular activities, and community service.
