Scope of this Project

In an effort toward better communication between the school and student families, Hamilton High School West has initiated a pilot project that proposes to assist teachers in the creation/maintenance of their own websites.  The intent of these websites is to

1. keep the family up to date on what is happening in the classroom
2. assist the student in makeup work/homework assignments
3. announce tests and major projects
4. allow for file downloads for crucial assignments or just notes from class
5. share pictures of class trips (student pictures posted with prior parental permission only!)
6. share pictures of class projects
7. etc.

Teachers who volunteer will be trained in the use of "MyTeacherPages" software, a relatively low-cost web server designed for educational use.  The software was chosen due to its "ease of use" and "no programming knowledge necessary" claims.  Teachers trained will receive guidance as to the district's acceptable use policy, and are individually responsible for their site's content.
