November Service Project is to bring in canned goods. In order to earn 5 points in religion for this service project you must bring in at least 10 cans.  

Supplies needed: We could use more wipes to use on our hands. (We have enough of the kind for the hard surfaces.) We can always use dry erase markers and small wrapped candy for prizes.

Language Arts Homework:

The week's topics for each class are listed below: 

Grammar: Action and linking verbs.            

  • HW - None.             

Spelling: Words with r-contrllled vowels.           

  • HW - Study.  
  • FMW on p. 31 and beginning.  
  • Test on Friday.     

Reading: Folk Tale  - The Ch'i - lin Purse. Skill - Compare and contrast and Predict.       

  • HW - None.    
  • Read every day for AR goals for November and fill in the pages read on your reading log.   

Vocabulary: Lesson 9 Words with Multiple Meanings - words that can be used in more than one way.          

  • HW - Study.   
  • Vocab quiz on Friday. Must know multiple meanings and how to use words as their different parts of speech.        
  • Writing: Personal Narrative.  

    • HW - None. The personal narrative were great and our Writer's Celebration was fun!   

    Social Studies Topics: Begin Unit 2 - Worlds Meet. Chapter 3 The Age of Exploration.  

    • HW - Finish Reading Road Map for Chapter 3.      

    Math Topics: Multiplication of whole numbers and decimals.   

    • HW - PW41. Problems #1,2,3,4,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,29,31,33.    
    • We have started on multiplication so practice your facts. Get those flashcards out if you're shaky on your facts. 
    • These are the Singapore math steps:
    • 1. Read the problem
    • 2. Write the answer in complete sentence using a blank ________.
    • 3. Identify who the problem is about.
    • 4. Identify what the problem is about.
    • 5. Draw a starting line and a unit bar (equal sizes) to model each variable.
    • 6. Chunk the problem.
    • 7. Place the question mark.
    • 8. Compute (show your work)
    • 9. Fill in the complete sentence with the answer.
    • 10. Check the answer

    Science Topics: Chapter 6 - Changes in Ecosystems.

    • HW - None. 
    • Science fair topic letter signed and returned by December 14th.  

    Religion Topics: School Mass Preparation and Ch. 5 Great is the Lord, Our God.

  • HW - Finish Chapter 5 WS (Word Search and questions about attributes of God - You must answer each question with 3 complete sentences.)
