Dear Parent,

            I am very excited to begin this school year with your child.

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your 7^th grader’s English teacher.  My name is Kristin Harper.  I was raised in Mustang, am a Mustang High School graduate, and am now raising my own family here in Mustang.

            Along with teaching your child proper English habits, I also feel it is important to prepare each student to be independent thinkers and individuals.  With this role, I expect each student to have respect for themselves and others, as well as, uphold the responsibilities expected from each student in 7^th grade.  Please take the time to look at my class overview, classroom expectations, rules, and grading policy on the back of this letter.

            I appreciate and respect your role as a parent and hope to partner with you in your student’s education.  I encourage and applaud your involvement in your child’s 7^th grade year.  I keep a weekly updated website that will have current spelling words, an agenda, and newsworthy information about our class.  You may check up on your child’s English assignments at your convenience.  Please contact me by phone or e-mail at any time.  My availability to use the phone is limited during school hours.  Please understand if I can not return a phone call until my planning times or until after school.  I look forward to working with you this year.  Let’s go!!
