Welcome to Mrs. Saxon's first grade class! What wonderful children you have! First grade is all about new beginnings, building relationships, establishing an environment where each individual is valued, as well as creating an atmosphere where learning is an incredible adventure. It is also an opportunity for me to discover each child as a reader, writer, and learner. I am looking forward to a fabulous year! First Grade Reading Winners! The students have gotten off to a great start on reading books at home. Whether it is accelerated readers or pleasure reading, your child will receive a dot for every book read on his ribbon. Just jot a note listing the books they have read and mark whether it is an AR book, or chapter book. The goal is to beat the 1000 books the class read last year!
"Quote of the month" No matter how many years I teach, I still get asked the question-"Mrs. Saxon, what happens when you pull a red card?"
