  • 6th Grade requires 20 minutes of reading a night.
  • Self-selected reading improves fluency, builds vocabulary, and helps develop comprehension skills.
  • We encourage parents to make sure there is a variety of literature in your home...ESPECIALLY if your child is a reluctant reader.
  • To assist you in keeping up with current books, we send home a book order the first Tuesday of every month.  Please go through the book orders and see what your child is interested in.  Orders are due in class by Friday morning.  Book orders generally have some of the cheapest prices on books!
  • You DO NOT have to order books, but go through them with your child---it will allow you to see what they are interested in and you can head to the library, give ideas to Grandparents for gifts, and have another glimpse into what your child is into in these days!
