6th Grade News Happy Valentine's Day Week of February 13 - 17 th We had a wonderful experience on our field trip to the State Capitol and James J. Hill House last Friday. We look forward to seeing and talking to you at Winter Conferences - Monday and Thursday of this week. Thanks for signing up for a time.
Here is an update of our homeroom classes: Math: We will conclude our work with graphing in Chapter 7 by the end of the week. Language Arts: Poetry is still our focus. We have written many different types of poems the last two weeks. This week we will concentrate on analyzing a variety of poetry, as well as publishing our own works. In addition, we will be reviewing skills for our writing. Social Studies: Chapter 11 is our unit of study. We continue exploring Minnesota in the 1800's. The focus this week is the flour, lumber, and iron industries. Spelling: Spelling words this week should be in your child's planner. Be sure they are practicing each day. Monday 2/13 - Conferences 3:30-7:00 Tuesday 2/14 - Valentine's Party is classroom Wednesday 2/15 -Mass at St. Joseph's Church at 8:10. Thursday 2/16 - Conferences 3:30-7:00 Friday 2/17 - No School Monday 2/20 - No School - President's day
