Is Spring Here?

We are in the 4th quarter of school and I can hardly believe it.  One of my students made the comment that it seems like just yesterday when we had the 1st day of school.  I have to agree.  This year has flown by very quickly.  I have a great group of kids and that makes the days fly. I am not ready for them to move on to 5th grade.  We have much to accomplish before June.  Here are some of the things we are working on.

In language arts we read the book Frindle by Andrew Clements. We all enjoyed the story and the activities that went with it.  We will start the 4th theme of the book and we will end the year with a chocolate unit, which is a past favorite.  The students have started their research papers on a state of their choice.  I am excited to see the finished products.

I have many mathematicians!  We are studying area and perimeter and we will be finishing this unit and heading on to the next unit.

In social studies we are studying the Midwest Region and in science they are studying the solar system.  I am looking forward to seeing their projects!
