Welcome to the Music Department web site. My name is Fred Kirisits, and I have been the Director of Music at MMA for 29 years.  I am a graduate of the University of Buffalo and hold B.A. degrees in Music and Psychology, and a Masters degree in Music Education.

My philosophy of music education is that all students should have an opportunity to study and perform music, no matter what their background and previous experience encompasses. 

All students interested in any music course must first complete Chorus I--usually in Freshman year.  Upon completion of Chorus I, students may opt to continue vocally ("Pure Magic" Show Choir and/or Women's Choir), or they may wish to be a part of the handbell program (Beginning, Intermediate. or Advanced,i.e., "Magic Belles").  A 1 semester course in Music Theory is offered for those students wishing to complete a Music sequence.

I also offer private piano lessons.  I have been teaching private piano for 30 years am currently accepting new beginning, intermediate or advanced students.
