Bob Bertke

 

Bob Bertke is a recent graduate of the University of Louisville School of Music. He received his Bachelor's of Music Education in 2004 with honors and his Master's of Music Education in 2008. As an undergraduate, Mr. Bertke received the Helen Boswell Award in Music Education. As a graduate student, Mr. Bertke was a graduate teaching assistant as well as the instructor of one music education course at the School of Music. During his time at U of L, Mr. Bertke was also invited to present his research findings at the Kentucky Music Educators Conference in 2008.

In the past, Mr. Bertke has taught in the Hardin County School system.  In addition to his duties at St. Francis, he also teaches one music education course at the University of Louisville School of Music. 

Mr. Bertke is also a trumpet player.  As a performer, Mr. Bertke has been a semi-finalist at the National Trumpet Competition (ensemble division), performed with many recording artists, participated in several recording projects, as well as tour Brazil and Italy as a trumpet player.  Currently, he performs with the Derby City Brass Band.

The MS Parents Program will start at 9:30 on Tuesday Morning. The MS portion of Grandparents' Day will start at 11:00 Wednesday.

 

4th Grade Humanities

Humanities will begin talking about the elements of performance and how they can impact a piece of music.

4th Grade Music

4th graders are gearing up for their Grandparents' Day Performance. Please see the newsletter for information regarding the performance times and the parent performance. The fourth grade program will feature The Star Spangled Banner and a new piece called Melody's Ace.

5th Grade Music

The fifth grade is preparing for their Grandparents' Day performance. Please see the newsletter for information. The fifth grade program features a piece titled Soldier's Joy and a traditional dance.

6th Grade Music

6th graders are gearing up for their Grandparents' Day Performance. Please see the newsletter for information regarding the performance times and the parent performance. The sixth grade program will feature a piece titled Jewe and a piece inspired by Japanese Taiko drumming.

7th Grade Music

7th graders are gearing up for their Grandparents' Day Performance. Please see the newsletter for information regarding the performance times and the parent performance. The seventh grade program will feature Theme and Variations on Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Let it Be.

8th Grade Music

8th graders are gearing up for their Grandparents' Day Performance. Please see the newsletter for information regarding the performance times and the parent performance. The eighth grade program will feature All Blues and Freddie Freeloader.

Trumpet Ensemble

Trumpet ensemble students need to bring their instrument each Friday.
