Hello and welcome to the Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center Music Department Homepage.

Fienberg Fisher Music Department consists of two full-time teachers, Mr. Arnaldo Paseiro and Mr. Michael Erwin. We not only work well together as a team within the Music Department, but we also are fortunate to work with the other outstanding faculty and staff at Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center.

The Music Department is also very fortunate to have a very supportive School Administration. The Music Department would like to thank Mrs. Olga Figueras, Former Principal, for her many years of genuine support of the Music Department at Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center. Her dreams have been realized in award-winning musical ensembles at Fienberg. The Music Department would also like to congratulate Mrs. Maria Zabala on her new position as Principal of Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center as well as Ms. Aisha Marrero on her new position as Assistant Principal of Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center. Along with Mrs. Mary Murphy, Assistant Principal, the members of the Music Department look forward to reaching new heights and showing everyone that Fienberg Fisher's Music Department is indeed an "A"

The Music Department at Fienberg Fisher is active both during and after school. During the school day, both Music Teachers carry a full class load of General Music classes for grades 2-5 as well as an elective in Guitar and Music Appreciation for grades 6-8. After school, Mr. Paseiro directs the Fienberg Fisher Chorale Aires on Fridays, and both Beginning and Advanced Guitar Consorts. Mr. Erwin directs the Fienberg Fisher Symphony Orchestra (first year players) on Tuesdays and Fridays, and the Fienberg Fisher Philharmonic Orchestra (players with 2 or more years experience) on Mondays and Thursdays. New this year will be the Spectrum Strings Chamber Ensemble that will meet on Wednesdays. New to the Music Faculty is Mrs. Deanna Erwin. Yes, Mr. Erwin's wife will be director of our new Concert Band. Mrs. Erwin is a professional concert bassoon player and has many years working with wind instruments. The Concert Band will be meeting after school on Wednesdays. All of the performing ensembles are active in participating in performances both on and off campus.

We are excited to announce that the orchestra program at Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center has been adopted by the New World Symphony. Mr. Erwin will be working in conjunction with members of the New World Symphony to offer the orchestra members of the Fienberg Fisher Orchestra Program a world-class musical education.
