5th Grade Festival Activities When: Wednesday June 17th, 2009 5th grade Festival: For those of you who don’t already know, Fifth Grade Festival is the “party” given during school, to the fifth graders who will be promoted later that evening. Funded by the FFHSA the festival is a party which includes games and music and is held in the cafeteria after all the other grades have eaten lunch. Fifth graders will receive their t-shirts and yearbooks at this time. The Bake-off Contest: Your 5th grader is invited to participate (either solely or working with a friend) in the bake-off contest…using his/her culinary and artistic talents …. Contest rules: • Cakes must be received on June 17th by 9:15 a.m. Sorry, refrigeration isn’t available • Please put label on bottom of your pan with your child’s name and classroom - each cake will then be given a number by our volunteers • Judges will be FF staffers….and judging will be closed by 12:00 Prizes Awarded to the following categories:tbd Winners will be announced at the 5th grade festival --after students eat the desserts! Class Gift Reminder: If you would like to contribute and have not yet, please send cash or a check (payable to FFHSA) to school marked “5th grade class gift”. FIFTH GRADE PROMOTION CEREMONY: 5TH grade festival ends right before dismissal. Decorations from the festival are then moved to the gym, where the Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place at 6:00 pm. Given by the school this is a moving ceremony to which family and friends are invited. Mrs. McKay will send out these invitations home with your child.
