The Second Graders waiting for the CSO performance to begin!

Success!! The 2nd Grade field trip to hear the CSO was absolutely, positively terrific!  Everyone had a great time, and the students loved getting to see all of the instruments of the orchestra and the very beautiful Symphony Center.  The performance was wonderful too!

Tell us what you thought of the trip!

Check out some pictures of our trip!

See the pages from our concert's program attached at the bottom of the page, titled "CSO Program- Mother Goose and More- November 20, 2009".

Halloween Fun: Watch Mrs. Skweres' Class performing "Whacky Halloween" on Boomwhackers HERE!

Check out a fun Animoto movie of DeLay Halloween Happenings or our Halloween Activities Slide Show to see spooky things and wonderful costumes in and out of the music room!

(The concert we see will be very similar to this performance happening the day after we have our trip. Some of the pieces we will hear will be from Tchaikovsky's composition of Sleeping Beauty.  This ballet will actually be performed in Glen Ellyn in January.
Check out the details HERE!)

Great News! Ms. Skibbie's May 2009 project on Donorschoose.org was funded by US Cellular, and we now have a new bass xylophone in the music room! Check out a picture of it at the bottom of this page.  There are still other projects for the music room listed on Donorschoose.org too.  Check them out!

It's my favorite time of year again--- School is back in session!  I love seeing everyone's smiling face again! Make sure your singing voices, dancing feet, and thinking brains are ready for lots of fun times in music class in 2009-2010!

Welcome to the music website for Mark DeLay.  The students are always keeping quite busy learning about many composers, international music, different styles and genres of music, singing songs, playing instruments and even dancing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Please check out the "Links" section of this website to find lots of interactive sites that will help your child and reinforce the concepts that are covered in class. Besides the Internet, I highly recommend taking a trip to the library to check out all sorts of great books about music, and also the many CDs that are available.  There are tons of great resources and music right at your fingertips!

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions on what your child is learning in music, or if you wish to discuss your child's progress in class.

Thanks for stopping by!  Check back often to see new things we are learning about in the music room.
