I love spending time with my family! We love to snowboard and ski every Winter and we go boating every Summer. Throughout the year, we enjoy hiking, and visiting National Parks and Monuments. Every Summer we attend our family reunions in Toronto Canada and Middle Tennessee. We have a ranch in Tennessee that we love going to where we horseback ride, visit many family relatives, catch fireflies, can jars of fruit and vegetables and visit the local Amish community. Most of our family vacations are educational. Our visits to different types of museums are most interesting! In my spare time - Wait!; What spare time? Actually, during any spare time that I might have, I love going antique shopping, playing competitive softball, swimming and sleeping of course. We also enjoy attending church together and are very involved with the American Cancer Society and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Our youngest has type I Diabetes and is on an insulin pump. I have a wonderful husband who is also a teacher. He teaches Middle School math classes. He also coaches softball at the local highschool. My oldest daughter is in her first year of college and living on campus. I have twins who are 16 and driving now. My youngest is 15 and is in leadership at her brand new highschool. This is my 23rd year as a teacher. Three of those years were with Orange County. I have taught grades K through adult education and prior to this career I taught pre-school at a Montessori school. I have been honored to work with beginning teachers for ten years, have served on our Professional Leadership Team at La Jolla, am currently the English Language Development Facilitator and teach the best group of second grade students!!!!! I am excited about this year as your child's teacher and am very passionate as their educator. I believe in a strong home school connection as we work together this year to prepare them for a successful school year and future. I work very hard with the students and parents to create a fun and creative learning environment where students are not afraid to take risks as they are learning new information and concepts. I am committed to providing them with a fun learning environment that promotes academic excellence and respect for one another. A variety of learning activities include hands-on activities, a team approach, technology and real life authentic experiences for the students. I am looking forward to the growth in learning we all will experience together as a team!
