Systematic English Language Development English Language Learners in our classrooms are those students who are acquiring the English language in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The ELL student is identified by a Home Language Survey that was completed by the parents at the time of registration. Those students are then given the CELDT standardized test to provide us with a level of language proficiency. There are four levels; Beginning, Early Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced levels of language proficiency. The instruction for the ELL students is a systematic approach where students will be engaged in fun and meaningful language development activities and opportunities to listen, speak, read and write in the English language.
