Overview Mrs. Shober
Resource Math

Welcome

In the resource classroom your child will learn to study more effectively and organize material in a more efficient manner.  Your child will be taught skills that will help them to be more successful in their content classes.  They will also receive reinforcement and extra practice for their content courses.  The resource room should not be viewed as a study hall, while they may have some time to work on assignments that they are having difficulty on they should do their homework at home.  If your child needs extra help on an assignment they can ask for clarification at this time.

Also in the resource room students will have to complete assignments that will help them learn and practice skills that they were taught in resource and in their general education class.  These assignments are mandatory since tey are working for credit and a grade in this class

In collaborative classes your student will have the benefit of having two teachers in a classroom. One teacher is the general education teacher for the course and I am the special education teacher.  In these classes both teachers will teach and lead whole class activities as well as provide support to the students.  Students will also have their accomodations met in this class.

About Me

I've been teaching special education for 23 years in Cecil County at Rising Sun High School.  I have two children that attend Cecil County Public Schools, one in the middle school and the other in high school.  I have always made it a point to communicate with parents on a regular basis and welcome any help and support that parents can give.

Since my school day is spent in general education classrooms I may not be reached by phone.  I do respond to e-mail regularly.  It is easier to pull up e-mail then it is to get a phone to hall you at home.  Most parents find this more practical since they also don't always have access to a phone
