Reading:  Charlotte's Web - chapters 12 - 22  Skills:  Identify cause and effect, draw conclusions, make predictions, sequence events, find the main idea and summarize. Test - Children will have various pages to test these skills.  There is no formal test as we have done most of the year.  You can help by asking your child what they read in the story that day to help them remember the story line and summarize events.  After we finish Charlotte's Web on 5/25, we will be reading Titanic and Helen Keller the following week.  Skills:  summarize, draw conclusions, and recall details.

Spelling:  Rule:  Spell related words.  This list is from the Elena's  Serenade .  Test - none. 

English:  Define, identify, and use quotations in poetry, songs, story titles, and conversaton.  Test - Tuesday, 5/29. 

Handwriting:  Continue to review all letters.

Math: Simplify expressions containing parenthesis, multiply by 3 or more factors, use the associative property of multiplication; write tenths using common decimal fractions, measure to the nearest tenth of a centimeter; multiply by 8; work backwards to solve problems, guess and check to problem solve; identify factors of a prime number no less than 20; find the volume of a rectangular prism; divide by 2- and 3-digit multiples of 10 by a 1-digit number using mental computation.  Assessment test - Friday, 5/25,  Fact test - Thursday, 5/24.

Religion:  Prayers of the Month:  Hail Holy Queen - last prayer of the rosary.    Describe the miracles in Fatima and Guadalupe; learn about the life of St. Bernadette; learn about Pentecost; discuss some of Jesus' miracles.
