Spelling Procedures 
Spelling lists are handed out each Monday. The spelling lists are also located in the spelling book. Your child may take his or her spelling book home to at any time to study his or her words. At the beginning of the book, students will have fifteen list words and five bonus words. Bonus words are worth one point each on tests. As we progress throughout the book, the lists will increase to twenty list words and five bonus words.
A practice test is part of the nightly homework each night. You can download the form below if you wish, or a piece of notebook paper is acceptable as well.
Practice tests are important for students. Listening for the word and then writing it down allows them to hear the word and see it written many times so it will be committed to memory. Any incorrect words should be written three times on the back of the paper.
Spelling tests are Friday of each week.
