On this page click on Main Menu which will take you to subject categories. Click on Social Studies. The list of topics will appear in ABC order.

This page will be used to communicate timelines, assignments and resources regarding the CBA for social studies. Sub-pages will guide you to specific directions and resources related to your topic. The OSPI general directions and rubric for both DIG DEEP and CAUSES OF CONFLICT will be contained as subpages. THE DATES LISTED BELOW FOR CBA IN-CLASS WORK ALSO INCLUDE THE USE OF THE LIBRARY AND LAB 40 DURING CLASS. On 2/11 you will be provided a copy of the cover page and rubric for your CBA project. Keep this all all information you gather in a special CBA section of your history binder.
Following is the timeline for in-class work on the CBA and the projected due dates for each step. You may choose to work ahead of the schedule if you prefer and turn in your essay earlier by working on the CBA at home. Just be sure to turn in your work at each stage for feedback before moving on to the next step:
2/11 CBA Friday--Identify sources of information you might use to answer your research questions. Time is scheduled in the library and Lab 40. Use Noodletools to created a Bibliography listing your sources following the MLA style. You may later add to or delete items from this bibliography before making your final bibliography.
2/18--MID WINTER BREAK 2/25 CBA Friday--You will receive an outline of questions (developed from your essentials questions papers) to answer as you begin your research to answer the historical question. Use Noodletools notecards. You may organized your piles to match the outline sections as this might make it easier to organize your essay later on. 3/4 FISHBOWL CBA TIMELINE REVISIONS 4/15 CBA Friday--Continue answering the questions on your notecards. Look for and locate primary artifacts, documents, actual words from the time period to use as proof to support your ideas and information in your essay. These sources must be included in your bibliography using the MLA style. DEVELOP YOUR THESIS STATEMENT. (Due by 4/22) 4/22 FISHBOWL 4/29 CBA Friday--Organize your ideas and begin typing the 1st draft of your essay. (Due by 5/6) 5/6 MSP WRITING 5/13 CBA Friday--Revise the 1st draft by adding information (specific details), using active verbs, adding the "blues", creating a hook. Finally, edit for spelling, caps, and punctuation. FINALIZE ANOTATIONS FOR BIBLIOGRAPHY (4 ANNOTATIONS REQUIRED) PRINT OUT AND TURN IN THE FINAL ESSAY AND ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY WITH THE COVER PAGE AND RUBRIC.
