WELCOME TO MRS. PERSKY'S WEB PAGE!

Welcome to 7th grade social studies for SY2009-2010!  This website is to make it easy for you to know what's coming up in the way of assignments throughout the year.  I will keep assignments and due dates posted on a regular basis so that you can keep up when you are absent from school.  I also post grades regularly on SKYWARD Family Access so that you can check your progress at any time.  If you do not have home access to a computer, you can access SKYWARD from any computer, including the public library.  Be sure to check with the school office for information on how to set up an account and the log-in process.  A hard copy of the progress report will be sent home the 4th week of each quarter.

LATE WORK POLICY:  Any daily assignment is due at the end of class on the day assigned.  If a student needs more time to complete the work, it is homework the same evening and due the beginning of class the next day.  It will not be accepted after this time unless the student is absent.  In that case, it is due the day the student returns to school.  For long term assignments/projects (2 to 3 weeks) students are required to turn in the assignment on the due date or receive a "0".  Students who do not turn in the assignment have 1 week to turn it in and replace the "0" with a grade.  However, the grade will be reduced by 10% as a late penalty.  I will contact parents prior to the due date if I think a student is not going to get the assignment in on time.  I will also inform parents 1 time if the assignment was not turned in.

I encourage you to contact me regarding an assignment or any student related issue.  I can be reached via school voice mail, e-mail, and home phone.

E-mail:  dpersky@osd.wednet.edu I prefer being contacted through e-mail.  I check it several times daily.  If the response is pretty involved I will call you preferably at home that evening.  Therefore, it is helpful if you include your home phone number in your e-mail in the event I need to call you.  Our records are not always up-to-date!

Home phone:  357-5503.

Voice-mail:  Just call the school and your message will go to my voice mail.  I usually do not have time to check this until the end of the day.  I become frustrated with voice-mail because it usually results in phone tag.  If you have not received a reply from me by the same evening, please call me at home.  If you do use voice-mail, please leave your home phone number as well as your work number.  If I am unable to reach you at work I will call that evening at home.

Sincerely,

Diane Persky
