Now that we have completed Chapter 12, The Americas, in Social Studies, we will begin a fun project that will help our students prepare for the chapter test. In pairs, our students will create an original Gameboard with questions about The Americas that come from their study guides and/or their packets. Their gameboards should be colorful and creative. The game should include clear directions and rules. The pair of students are required to present the gameboard to the class and clearly explain how the game is played. The following areas will be graded: - Game Tests Players Knowledge of the Americas
- Game is Creative and Fun to Play
- Game is Neatly Designed and Colorful
- Game has Original Name
- Blueprint for Game was utilized prior to Construction
- Directions for Game are Included
- Creators Clearly Described the Game to the Class
Once the games are presented, we will have time in class to play the game boards. This time will count as a review prior to the chapter test. We will also visit other 6th grade classrooms and observe some of their gameboards.
