         OKLAHOMA Tryout Packet

Tryouts:              Tuesday, January 3 – 2:45 - 5:00pm        Wednesday, January 4 – 2:45 - 5:00pm          **6th Graders will sing & dance only, unless specifically asked to act.           6th graders will be done at 4:00 each day.**     **You only need to sign up for 1 day of Try-outs**

·       The cast list of those students who have been chosen to be in the musical will be posted online on Wednesday, Jan 4 at 8:30pm.

·      6^th Graders will have a chance to be in the CHORUS only.  Seniority is given for the Main Character parts to the 8^th & 7^th graders.

·      There is a $12.00 non-refundable activity fee for those students who are cast in the musical.  Do not send the fee now; we will collect the money the 1^st week of practice.

·        The performance dates are: March 1,2,3 You must be available for all performances.

·       Practices will be every day after school and most students will usually be done by 4:00 during the month of January– so they can ride the activity bus. Everyone stays till 5:00 in February.

·       Main Characters & designated groups will rehearse till 5:00 as noted in the schedule.

·       With so many students in the musical, we have a strict attendance policy:  If a student has 2 unexcused rehearsals they will need to step aside for the good of the group. (So, if your daughter/son is involved in other  after school activities such as Sports, Snowboarding, Umpty, or other community groups, you may want to reconsider if the musical  will work with their schedule.)

·       Every student will be expected to sign a contract stating the following:

v    If chosen to be in the musical, I promise to use mature and respectful behavior

     at all times.

v    I understand that if my behavior is inappropriate or disruptive that there will be no warnings, and I will be immediately terminated from the cast.

v    I will try my best to uphold the high standards of Chippewa Middle School.

        Student Promise:

·      If chosen to be in the musical, I promise to use mature and respectful behavior at all times.

·      I promise not to run, scream, jump off the stage, leave the auditorium without permission, be loud, rude or disruptive.

·      I understand that if my behavior is inappropriate or disruptive that there will be no warnings, and I will be immediately terminated from the cast.

·      I will try my best to uphold the high standards of Chippewa Middle School.

·      I understand and agree to all of the above rules & information.
